Joe Towles

Joe Towles (Air Force), a Vietnam veteran who left the Air Force in 1972, spent years grappling with increasing alcohol and drug problems. By 2003, Joe was fighting a drug addiction that led to losing jobs, relationships, money, and housing. After reaching rock bottom, he contemplated suicide and eventually turned to the VA for help. They provided housing, detox, and counseling support. While achieving sobriety, Joe found God and returned to school on a mission to counsel fellow veterans like him. Born in Hollywood, South Carolina, Joe now lives in Charleston.
