Jason Vero

Air Force Academy graduate and helicopter rescue pilot, Jason Vero, currently serves in the Air Force as an UN-1N Huey aviator. As a trans male serving openly after the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” Jason has witnessed many changes throughout the Department of Defense. After experiencing command failures and discrimination from his peers, he has harnessed his negative experiences toward more positive outcomes by advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. He provides thoughtful counsel to military leadership, education for his peers, and support for other trans service members on active duty.
