Davon Goodwin

Davon Goodwin (Army Reserves) was balancing combat deployments for the Army Reserves while trying to complete a college degree when he was wounded by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. Returning home, Davon faced challenges during his transition to civilian life, including post-traumatic stress and the effects of traumatic brain injury. Ultimately, he persevered, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. Upon graduation, he purchased 42 acres in North Carolina, naming his place Off the Land Farms, where he now farms sustainably alongside his wife and kids. Together, they use their farm to connect with their broader community, teach healthy eating, and share regenerative farming practices. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Davon now lives in Raeford, North Carolina.
